Similar in nature is the Playgrounds module, which allows players to construct elaborate obstacle courses and share them with other users to fight for the best place in the ranking. In Career mode, we follow the adventures of two masters of the wheel, who compete against each other in the DiRT Off-Road Series competition - they are AJ and Bruno Durand, speaking in the voices of well-known game actors: Troy Baker and Nolan North, respectively. The developers paid a bit more attention to the plot than usual in the genre of racing games. The title was developed by the Codemasters Software studio, more precisely by the Cheshire branch, which previously prepared OnRush.

The production mainly develops the concepts introduced in DiRT 2 and offers a similar atmosphere.

DiRT 5 is the next installment of the well-known racing series devoted mainly to rallies - depending on the counting method, it is the fifth, eighth (including DiRT Rally and Showdown) or thirteenth (adding the Colin McRae Rally games, from which DiRT is derived) part.
